چکیده

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin with hormonal functions, which helps in calcium and phosphate homeostasis bone metabolism. Beyond the role health, influences non-skeletal health problems chronic diseases like obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, glucose intolerance type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Low impairs insulin synthesis secretion resulting T2DM. This study was carried out between July 2015 to June 2016 assess status T2DM patients. In this study, {25-hydroxycholecalciferol [25(OH)D3]} assessed 65 patients 70 healthy subjects of matching age sex. Serum 25-hydroxycholecalciferol, fasting blood (FBG), total cholesterol serum creatinine were estimated. Data analyzed help statistical package “R” (version 2.7). 25-hydroxycholecalciferol cases (Group A) 55.73±9.02 ng/ml controls B) 53.77±10.86 ng/ml; there no statistically significant difference two groups. FBG significantly different groups, whereas not patients, correlation found Body mass index (BMI), cholesterol. controls, BMI, level sufficient both individuals. associated Mediscope 2022;9(2): 75-80

Serum Vitamin D Status and Its Relationship to Metabolic Parameters in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

The potential relationship between vitamin D (VitD) status and metabolic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) warrants further study. We aimed to evaluate the relationship between the serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] level and various parameters in patients with T2DM. We analyzed retrospectively data from 276 Korean patients with T2DM whose serum 25(OH)D level was measure...

Vitamin D Deficiency is Associated with the Metabolic Syndrome in Subjects with Type 2 Diabetes

Background and Objectives: There is convincing evidence that subjects concomitantly affected by type 2 diabetes (T2D) and metabolic syndrome (MeS) are at greater risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Many metabolic derangements in T2D might be attributed to poor vitamin D status. The purpose of this study was to investigate the associations among vitamin D status, MeS and glycemic status in su...

Association between Serum Vitamin D Level and Glycemic and Inflammatory Markers in Non-obese Patients with Type 2 Diabetes

Background: Low serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D (25(OH)D) has been shown to correlate with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The objective of this study was to investigate the association between serum 25(OH)D and glycemic and inflammatory markers in non-obese patients with T2DM. Methods: Eighty-four non-obese patients with T2DM were recruited in this cross-sectional study. Demog...
